Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience operating a CNC waterjet, laser, or plasma cutting system preferred; OMAX experience is a strong plus.
• Experience operating horizontal and/or vertical band saws in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape, squares) and shop math (fractions, decimals, metric/imperial conversion).
• Basic computer skills; experience entering labor and transactions in an ERP or shop-floor system preferred.

Responsabilités

• Waterjet: Set up and run the OMAX waterjet, select program/nest, set material type/thickness, establish origin, verify cut quality.
• Waterjet upkeep: Monitor garnet supply, nozzle/orifice condition, pump pressure, and tank water level; perform daily PM logs.
• Sawing: Cut material to length on the saws per work order; select blade, adjust speed/feed; manage remnants and scrap.
• Inspection to print: Read drawings and tolerances; perform first-piece and in-process inspection with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Work order labor: Clock in/out; record quantities, move parts to next operation; complete ERP transactions.
• Scrap & nonconformance: Report scrap with quantity/reason; tag and document NC; notify Production Manager/Quality.
• Inventory accuracy: Verify material/part quantities issued/consumed/remaining; label remnants.
• Material handling: Load/unload stock with crane/hoist; stage finished parts; ensure proper paperwork.
• Safety & 5S: Follow safety procedures; keep areas clean and organized; PPE use required.
• Communication: Report machine issues/material shortages; escalate risks; update status at shift handoff.
• Continuous improvement: Participate in Gemba walks and suggest setup/nesting/workflow improvements.
