Job summary

Whipple Service Champions is expanding our underground division and seeking experienced utility excavators who know how to safely expose, trench, and support repairs on water, sewer, and other buried service lines. If you’ve spent your time digging around live utilities, identifying line paths, and operating excavation equipment with precision, this role is built for you.

Qualifications

• 1+ year utility-focused excavation experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all conditions.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn underground utility work.
• Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Excavate and expose water, sewer, and drain lines safely.
• Operate mini‑excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and trenchers.
• Dig accurate, safe trenches for repairs and replacements.
• Support plumbing crews with pipe replacement and underground work.
• Follow trenching, shoring, confined-space, and utility-locate procedures.
• Maintain equipment and keep the jobsite clean.
• Communicate respectfully with homeowners.
