Job summary

Acumed LLC is seeking a Turning Machinist for the second shift to set up and operate turning machines, loading and unloading parts per standard operating procedures while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.

You will work with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to optimize cell processes. The role requires 1–2 years with Acumed or 3–5 years external experience, plus Tooling U completion or machining classes, and fluent English for documentation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
• Completion of Tooling U and/or enrolled in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
• Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
• Demonstrated set-up competency on Cell-specific Machine Tools with acceptable results.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read/speak English to complete documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machine tools to maintain Quality, Cost and Delivery under supervision.
• Manage turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes.
• Start/observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
• Maintain cleanliness: empty chip bins and sweep work area.
• Follow established practices to ensure Quality during operation and document accordingly.
• Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Perform general set-ups for maximum utilization; collaborate with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers.
