Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
• Completion of Tooling U and/or enrolled in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
• Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for documentation.
• Demonstrated set-up competency on cell-specific machine tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate turning machines to meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Start and observe machine operation for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work.
• Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
• Empty chip bins and keep area clean.
• Perform general set-ups to maximize utilization.
• Monitor machine performance and perform preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve cell processes.
