Job summary

Acumed LLC is seeking a Turning Machinist for our second shift to set up and operate turning machines, including lathes and Swiss lathes, ensuring quality and efficiency. You will work under supervision, load and unload parts per SOPs, and collaborate with senior machinists to optimize cell processes.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience or 3–5 years external experience, English literacy, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

1–2 years related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
Completion of Tooling U and/or enrolled in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
Ability to follow instructions and read/understand documentation.
Ability to work in a team environment and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

Operate production machine tools to maintain quality, cost and delivery.
Operate and maintain turning machines, including lathes and Swiss lathes.
Observe operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
Empty chip bins and keep work area clean.
Follow established quality documentation and procedures.
Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance.
Set up for maximum utilization and efficiency.
Collaborate with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve cell processes.
