Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to design, fabricate, and maintain precision tooling used in our manufacturing processes. The role ensures tooling meets exact specifications to produce high-quality parts efficiently and consistently, collaborating with engineering and production to troubleshoot tooling issues.

This position requires attention to detail, strong metalworking and machining knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints, apply GD&T, and operate grinders,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited tool and die maker apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
• Proven experience in tool and die making or precision machining within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and precision measurement tools.
• Ability to operate machine tools such as grinders, mills, lathes, and drill presses safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering specifications.
• Perform precision machining operations such as grinding, milling, and drilling to fabricate tooling components.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve tooling-related issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tooling specifications, maintenance records, and modifications.
• Utilize measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances of tools and finished parts.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling efficiency and reduce manufacturing defects.
