Job summary

Small Parts is seeking a Tool & Die technician to own the hands-on fabrication and upkeep of dies, jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, and gauges used across Production. You will work from blueprints and engineering specs to analyze metal stock, set up machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to exacting standards, collaborating with Production Setup personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two-year college/technical degree preferred.
• Level varies by classification (C/B/A) with 6 mo–8 yrs experience equivalence.
• Ability to precision grind and hold tolerance of .0002 in steel and carbide.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, reconstruct, and repair tools and dies used in Production; regrind angles and radii.
• Build new dies and tools per customer and engineering specs; work solo or with assistants.
• Identify errors in blueprints and report needed tooling modifications; document work.
• Assist Production Setup with sampling and troubleshooting; train other Tool & Die staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and tooling records.
