Accelera is seeking a Precision Tooling Specialist to maintain high-speed production tooling, fabricate components, and troubleshoot complex tooling systems in a demanding manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with engineering, standardize tooling documentation, and participate in Lean initiatives to boost uptime, quality, and delivery performance in Detroit-based operations.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman certification or 5+ years of equivalent experience in tool and die making.
  • Deep proficiency in reading complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Hands‑on experience with progressive stamping dies and metal forming processes.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair tooling in a fast‑paced production setting.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and precision shop machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive maintenance and repair on production tooling to ensure maximum uptime and operational readiness.
  • Fabricate precision components, fixtures, and gauges to support evolving manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new tooling into production lines while ensuring seamless performance.
  • Standardize tooling inventory and documentation to drive continuous improvement and reduce lead times.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and assist in resolving complex setup or production challenges.
  • Analyze and update job documentation to reflect process improvements and operational changes.
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and SMED, to enhance overall production efficiency.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards while operating heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts.
