You will troubleshoot tooling, fabricate high-precision components, and ensure manufacturing processes run efficiently. You will design fixtures and mold components using advanced 3D CAD, operate CNC, EDM, and related equipment, and mentor junior machinists to uphold precision standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in toolmaking and technical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design and modeling software.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC, EDM, milling, turning, and grinding equipment.
  • Deep understanding of GD&T and engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and assembly teams to deliver high-quality tooling projects on schedule.
  • Diagnose and resolve production tooling malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain output quality.
  • Design and fabricate custom jigs, fixtures, and prototype components using advanced 3D CAD modeling.
  • Interpret complex engineering prints and 3D models to plan and execute precise mold builds and repairs.
  • Perform advanced machining operations, including CNC, wire EDM, and sinker EDM, to meet exacting tolerances.
  • Calculate precise coordinates and dimensions using trigonometry and GD&T principles to ensure component accuracy.
  • Mentor junior machinists and provide technical guidance on equipment capabilities and best practices.
  • Develop accurate time and cost estimates for tooling projects to support strategic planning.
