Job summary

Mid-West Forging and Machining is seeking a Precision Upsetter Tooling Finisher in Cleveland, OH. You will review tooling requirements, gather precision measuring tools, and recondition dies and tooling using powered drills, grinders, and files.

You will inspect dies for cracks, assess salvageability, read blueprints, and document measurements on required forms while maintaining a safe, clean workstation. The role emphasizes precision and adherence to plant safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
• Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; basic crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review tooling requirements and gather micrometers, calipers, steel gauge pins, and other gages.
• Disassemble, recondition, bench, and clean dies/tooling with hand tools and maintain finish quality.
• Inspect for cracks, wear, and dimensional accuracy; assess salvageability.
• Read and interpret part, machine, and die blueprints; document measurements on forms.
• Maintain a clean workstation and follow safety rules; perform additional tasks as assigned.
