Job summary

Mid-West Forging and Machining in Ohio is seeking a skilled operator to perform full setup and operation of die room machinery. You will read drawings, plan sequences, and select appropriate machines to produce precise tooling and components.

You will verify dimensions with micrometers and calipers, monitor output, and maintain machine and tool levels while upholding strict safety standards. The role requires stamina and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum four years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Read drawings and instructions to define output specifications.
• Take measurements with micrometers, calipers, and other gauges.
• Follow safety and plant rules.

Responsibilities

• Full setup and operation of all die room machinery.
• Produce and repair parts on Engine lathe(s), EDM, Drill Press(s), Shaper, Mattison grinder, Saw, Manual Bridge Port, Horizontal Mill, CNC Lathes, Mills, 5-Axis, and Boring Mill.
• Read samples, drawings, and instructions to define output specifications.
• Take measurements, mark material, and plan the sequence of actions to complete each job.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to confirm conformance to specifications.
• Monitor output and scrap defects that do not meet standards.
• Monitor machine, tooling, and cutting fluid levels; maintain lubrication and coolant tanks; empty chip buckets.
• Keep work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
• Follow all safety and plant rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
