Job summary

Alloy Precision Technologies in Mentor, OH is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to set up and operate engine lathes, mills, grinders and related equipment. You will read blueprints, use gauges for precise measurements, and assist with tooling and fixtures to meet customer specifications and ISO requirements.

You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Sales and Maintenance while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required. Basic machining knowledge, with 1 year production experience or vocational training preferred.
• Tool & Die or other machinist certifications are a plus.
• Capable of reading blueprints.
• Be willing to learn; high energy, results-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools such as engine lathes, mills and grinders.
• Support tooling and fixture requests from Production, Engineering, Sales, Maintenance and Machining.
• Apply basic machining skills using standard shop equipment and speeds/feeds knowledge.
• Read blueprints and translate rough ideas into final parts.
• Assist in CNC tasks as needed and advise on improvements to fixtures.
