Job summary

Doerfer Companies is seeking a Tool Room Welder to fabricate and repair metal components using welding processes including MIG and TIG, oxy-acetylene cutting, and precision measurement. You will read blueprints and follow WPS/PQRs while maintaining a clean, safe workshop.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and machinists, documenting work, and adhering to AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards. A safety-focused, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Six months of technical welding training or equivalent experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Shop mathematics including trig and algebra.
• Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding equipment and oxy-acetylene cutting torch.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Understands GMAW & GTAW processes and follows WPS.
• Safely uses metalworking tools including cutting and grinding equipment.
• Repair weld defects and structural components per instructions and AWS codes.
• Read blueprints/WPS/PQRs and follow instructions to fabricate finished components.
• Measure and lay out components for welding/cutting with scales and squares.
• Document work performed and communicate status and needs to team.
