Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is partnering with Grandville-based manufacturers to identify skilled Tool Makers who can fabricate, alter, and repair tooling including dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. The role requires interpreting complex drawings, using CNC and manual machines, and applying GD&T to ensure tolerance compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a formal apprenticeship or 5+ years of experience, with strong reading of blueprints and a track record of precise measurement and problem solving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal apprenticeship or 5+ years of toolmaking experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Solid GD&T knowledge and inspection methods.
• Proficient with manual and CNC tooling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, alter, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).
• Interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform precision measurements using inspection tools.
• Troubleshoot tooling performance and production issues.
• Select materials and heat treatment processes for tool manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineers on design improvements and new tool development.
