Job summary

Twin City Die Castings, Inc. in Monticello, MN, seeks a skilled tool room machinist to set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate and repair tooling for die casting.

You will read blueprints, verify dimensions with precision instruments, and perform die repairs, gate changes, and light EDM work as needed. A two-year machine technology degree and 2–3 years tooling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year machine technology degree required.
• Experience with precision measurement tools.
• 2-3 years tooling and die repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using calipers and micrometers.
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, and shape parts.
• File, grind, and adjust parts to fit together to spec.
• Inspect finished dies for defects and ensure smooth surfaces.
