Job summary

PrecisionX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Tool & Die Designer to lead end-to-end engineering of progressive dies for micro-miniature stampings. You will design tooling for BeCu and Phos Bronze, create detailed drawings and GD&T print tolerances, and specify heat-treat and materials requirements.

The role combines hands-on die design with cross-functional responsibilities such as new-product quoting, customer interfacing, and engineering file management in a production-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in progressive die stamping and micro-miniature parts.
• Strong CAD/CAM proficiency and GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop progressive stamping dies for micro-miniature parts.
• Select die configurations, punch/die clearances, and layouts for BeCu and Phos Bronze.
• Create 2D/3D drawings with GD&T callouts and print tolerances.
• Specify tooling materials and heat-treat requirements for components.
• Use CAM software (Esprit) for EDM/CNC toolpath generation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to resolve tooling issues.
• Prepare engineering documentation using MS Office and Acrobat.
