Job summary

Helix Linear Technologies is seeking a Thread Grinding Operator in Beachwood, OH to operate CNC thread grinding machines (Drake) and produce high-precision ball screws to print specifications. The role supports ball screw manufacturing in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

Experience with Drake machines is ideal, but we will train the right candidate with strong adjacent CNC grinding experience. Candidates should be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, able to read engineering drawings,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
Prior CNC thread grinding or cylindrical OD grinding experience is desirable.
Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Familiarity with micrometers, indicators and basic inspection tools.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable around grinding fluids and oils.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC thread grinding machines (Drake) to grind ball screws to print specifications.
Grind precision threads to required form, pitch, lead, and surface finish.
Input part data into menu-based CNC controls using drawings.
Monitor grinding operations for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
Inspect parts with precision measuring tools and document results.
Verify thread accuracy and adjust offsets to maintain control.
Follow ISO 9001 and AS9100 procedures and document results.
Move parts safely between operations and maintain a clean workspace.
Support continuous improvement and other duties as assigned.
