Job summary

Oberg Industries is seeking an experienced surface grinder to join our on-site machining team in Pennsylvania. You will set up and operate manual surface grinding equipment, inspect complex parts, and ensure blueprints and tolerances are met in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of a 2½-year Surface Grinding Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
Proficient communication in written and verbal form.
U.S. Citizenship or ability to comply with U.S. export regulations.
Authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Inspect parts prior to grinding to identify chips, cracks, or defects.
Set up and operate manual surface grinding equipment to tight tolerances.
Verify workpiece dimensions against blueprints and specifications.
Inspect parts received from other departments for accuracy and quality.
Review blueprints and identify inconsistencies or potential issues.
Fixture parts and develop manufacturing methods for complex components.
Diagnose and correct equipment or process issues using prior experience and test tools.
Provide input on process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Accurately record job times and production data.
