Job summary

Cozzoli Machine Company in New York is seeking an experienced OD grinder operator to set up, operate, and monitor our Chevalier semi-automatic OD and surface grinders.

The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, use micrometers and air gauges, and maintain tolerances to +/- .0001. We offer a clean, safe environment and comprehensive benefits with a Monday–Friday 7am–3pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches.
• Ability to work with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators and air gauges.
• Set up, operate, and monitor OD and Surface Grinders with tight tolerances.
• Willingness to learn new training and skills; prior industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor stainless steel and chromed parts on Chevalier OD and Surface Grinders.
• Perform minor manual OD/Surface Grinding when necessary.
• Read and interpret drawings and tighten tolerances to +/- .0001.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable and self-motivated individual to operate our OD Grinder. The qualified applicant must be detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly. The candidate must have an openness to new training, knowledge and skills. Previous industry experience is preferred.

Job requirements include:

• Set up, operate, and monitor stainless steel and chromed work pieces on our Chevalier semi-automatic OD and Surface Grinders
• Perform minor manual OD/Surface Grinding, when necessary
• Able to work with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, and air gauges
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical sketches
• Work to tolerances as tight as +/-.0001
• Strong attention to detail

The regular work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am – 3pm.
