Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company in Montgomery, AL seeks a Spray Machine Operator for the Water Heater Division. The role involves operating spray equipment, performing setup tasks, and entering quality data to ensure production runs meet specifications.

You will monitor mill thickness, adjust equipment to maintain daily output, and perform basic preventive maintenance while adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• External candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year of manufacturing/warehousing experience.
• Internal candidates must possess good communications skills.
• Candidate must have held their current job for a minimum of 6 months prior to bidding on this role.
• Candidate must not currently be on probation or have a written warning within 1 year.
• Candidate must promote Rheem values of Integrity, Teamwork and Business Ethics.
• Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Candidate must perform within the physical requirements of the role.
• Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs; stand/walk lift repetitively.
• Must be able to place a weighted object at minimum height of 5 feet.
• Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
• Candidate must be fitted for a respirator.
• PPE required: Gloves, Safety Glasses, Approved Footwear, Earplugs, Respirator, Clothing Protection.

Responsibilities

• Operate spray equipment using a computer touch screen following established procedures.
• Perform set-up operations on equipment as necessary.
• Enter quality data in a computer database periodically.
• Monitor wet mill thickness for adherence to specifications.
• Properly use an instrument mill thickness gauge.
• Make equipment adjustments to maintain daily production.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance on spray machine.
• Notify supervisor of any malfunctions to avoid downtime.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Support Rheem values with customers and internal teams.
• May be exposed to high noise, heat, dust and airborne particles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
