Job summary

Coworx Staffing Services LLC is seeking an SMT Operator in South Portland, Maine to operate and maintain SMT equipment used for PCB production. The role requires attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include setting up and running pick-and-place, stencil printer, and reflow equipment, loading BOMs, performing first article inspections, and maintaining logs and documentation while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience reading assembly drawings, schematics, and component datasheets.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Experience with SMT equipment such as pick-and-place machines, stencil printers, and reflow ovens is preferred.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, stencil printers, and reflow ovens.
• Load components and feeders according to job setup sheets and BOMs.
• Perform first article inspections to verify component placement and orientation.
• Conduct in-process visual inspections and adjust to maintain product quality.
• Troubleshoot machine errors and production issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet production standards.
• Maintain accurate production logs, setup records, and quality documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing policies.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
