Job summary

Assembly Technologies Inc in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an SMT Setup Operator to prepare SMT machines and related equipment for production runs. You will configure machines, place feeders, and verify setup accuracy to ensure high-quality PCB assemblies.

You will work with SMT equipment from Fuji, Panasonic, Juki, and ASM, perform first article checks, document setups, and support continuous improvement while adhering to safety and IPC standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or SMT assembly.
• Familiar with SMT equipment from Fuji, Panasonic, Juki, or ASM.
• Understanding of BOMs and assembly drawings.
• Good communication and teamwork with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up SMT pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens per specs.
• Load feeders, verify part numbers, orientations, and quantities.
• Perform first article inspections and verify setup accuracy.
• Assist with machine changeovers and minor maintenance to maintain uptime.
• Document setups, materials used, and production data.
• Follow ESD, IPC, and company safety standards.
• Support inventory control by returning unused materials to stock.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for quality and efficiency.
