Job summary

Interstate Packaging is seeking a Slitter/Rewind/Packer operator to set up and run the designated machine, ensuring product quality and adherence to safety procedures. The role requires reading job orders, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean rewind area with strong attention to detail.

Candidates must be able to lift heavy rolls, read tape measures, and follow written and verbal instructions while communicating effectively with supervision and shifts.

Qualifications

• Quality conscious.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to see good true color (not colorblind).
• Able to lift 50–75 pounds; must handle 100–300 pounds with equipment.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Able to read and follow detailed instructions.
• Able to communicate operating problems to supervisor.
• Spatial skills to judge dimensions and machine parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate designated slitters/rewinders.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Read and understand job jackets/orders and quality checks.
• Record information electronically and keep rewind area clean.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and management.
• Line clearance and shift change routines.
• Maintain GMP and food safety standards where applicable.
• Identify and address production issues to ensure quality.
• Keep workspace and equipment in good working order.
