United Performance Metals in Wallingford, CT is hiring a Production Operator to set up, operate, and monitor rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter equipment according to work instructions and production schedules.

You will perform tolerance checks with micrometers and calipers, enter data into the ERP system, inspect material quality, and assist with training, shipping support, and continuous improvement while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in machine operation or manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with rolling mill, slitting, winding, annealing, CNC, or similar metal-processing equipment.
• Ability to read micrometers, calipers, gauges and verify tolerances.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills including entering data into ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred; training may be provided.

Responsabilités

• Set up, operate, and monitor rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter per instructions.
• Perform tolerance checks and in-process inspections with precision tools.
• Load, unload, and move coils and materials using material-handling equipment.
• Enter production, inventory, quality, and process data into ERP.
• Inspect material for defects, surface condition, and packaging requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Communicate issues to supervisors, maintenance, and quality personnel.
• Assist with training and cross-training.
• Support shipping/receiving including staging, packaging, labeling, and inventory movement.
• Perform other duties to support production and warehouse operations.
