Job summary

United Performance Metals in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Production Operator to set up, monitor, and adjust rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter equipment in a safety-conscious manufacturing environment.

You will perform precision checks with micrometers and calipers, input production data into ERP systems, assist with material handling, and support continuous improvement initiatives while working as part of a team on day shifts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience operating rolling mill, slitting, winding, annealing, CNC, or similar metal-processing equipment is a plus.
Ability to read micrometers, calipers, gauges, and verify tolerances.
Basic computer skills to enter data into production or ERP systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter equipment.
Perform tolerance checks and in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Load/unload/move coils and raw materials using material-handling equipment.
Enter production, inventory, quality, and process data into ERP or documentation.
Inspect material for defects, surface condition, and packaging requirements.
Perform basic troubleshooting, equipment checks, and housekeeping.
