Job summary

United Performance Metals in Wallingford, CT is seeking an experienced production operator to set up and run rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter lines. You will perform precision inspections, document production data in ERP, and ensure materials meet quality and packaging specs.

Ideal candidates have basic math and measuring-tool skills, can follow detailed instructions, and work safely with heavy equipment in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with precision measuring tools is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and travelers.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor rolling mill, winder, annealing furnace, and slitter equipment per instructions and schedules.
• Perform tolerance checks and in-process inspections using precision tools.
• Load/unload and move coils and materials with material-handling equipment.
• Enter production and quality data into ERP and documentation.
• Inspect for defects and ensure packaging and coil condition meet specs.
• Support safety, housekeeping, and basic preventive maintenance.
