Job summary

Allegion in Chino, CA seeks a skilled Machine Operator to set up and operate sheet metal fabrication and welding equipment. You will read blueprints, perform welds, and inspect parts to tolerance in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires 1+ years of experience, ability to read technical drawings and BOMs, and basic math skills. A forklift certification is preferred and industrial maintenance will be part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (Required).
• 1+ years of experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery, N/C equipment, or welding tools (Required).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and product nomenclature (Required).
• Basic shop mathematics and use of precision measuring instruments (Required).
• Vocational training, welding certification, or formal technical trade education (Preferred).
• Forklift certification or ability/willingness to obtain certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sheet metal fabricating and welding equipment per SOPs.
• Plan, lay out, and perform arc and acetylene welding in various positions.
• Interpret blueprints, BOMs, and engineering drawings.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, tape measures, and levels.
• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools.
• Operate hand/power tools and forklifts; assist with material handling.
• Prepare orders and perform industrial paint spraying as needed.
