Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Machine Operator in Chino, CA to set up and run sheet metal fabrication and welding equipment. You will follow drawings, inspect parts with precision tools, and keep a safe, organized work area. This role requires basic math and the ability to read BOMs and lexicon from drawings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (Required).
• 1+ years of experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery, N/C equipment, or welding tools (Required).
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bills of materials, and product nomenclature (Required).
• Proven ability to perform basic shop mathematics and use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures (Required).
• Vocational training, welding certification, or formal technical trade education (Preferred).
• Forklift certification or ability/willingness to obtain certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and N/C sheet metal fabricating and welding equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Plan, lay out, and perform arc and acetylene welding on various metals and alloys across vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and bills of materials (BOM).
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, and levels.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on assigned machinery and tools.
• Operate hand and power tools (grinders, drills, sanders), perform manual material handling, and operate forklifts.
• Perform industrial paint spraying and order preparation as needed.
