Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power US. LLC in Michigan City, Indiana is seeking a Laser Operator with experience in sheet metal laser cutting to produce high quality parts safely and efficiently.

The role reports to the Fabrication Shop Production Supervisor. You will set up and troubleshoot laser equipment, handle materials safely (including forklift and overhead crane), and ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sheet metal laser equipment experience preferred
• Experience with Amada lasers and laser/turret combination machines preferred
• Experience with laser programming and nesting is a plus
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to read technical blueprints
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, data entry, and email

Responsibilities

• Set-up, troubleshoot and operate laser equipment, including cut condition, tool and workpiece adjustments
• Safely perform material handling using forklift and overhead crane
• Execute daily production, quality, and on-time delivery requirements
