Job summary

Midplainsind is seeking a CNC Laser Operator to set up and run fiber or CO2 laser cutting equipment, inspect parts, and ensure quality and safety standards. You will load programs, adjust parameters, and handle material via forklifts or cranes while reading blueprints and documenting production activity.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior CNC laser experience and material handling equipment familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with CNC laser cutting preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, tape, micrometers).
• Basic computer skills and strong attention to quality.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand long hours; forklift/crane experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO2).
• Load programs and adjust cutting parameters as needed.
• Load/unload material using forklifts or overhead cranes.
• Monitor machine operation and perform minor adjustments.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets.
• Maintain production and quality records and follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and programmers to improve efficiency.
