Job summary

Eaton in Windsor, CT is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our ALP Airport Lighting Products division. Based in Windsor, CT, you will fabricate and assemble precision sheet metal components and assemblies, focusing on aluminum and CRS, with TIG/MIG welding as part of the role.

You will read engineering drawings, set up fabrication equipment, and ensure dimensional accuracy while supporting production with cross-training across processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Experience TIG welding aluminum in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, modify, and assemble sheet metal components using engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Perform TIG, MIG, and spot-welding operations on aluminum and steel components.
• Work with material thicknesses ranging from .030 to .250 inches.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, CNC turret punches, PEM insertion equipment, Bridgeport mills, and metal-cutting saws.
• Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Crosstrain and develop proficiency in multiple fabrication processes as needed to support production operations.
