Job summary

STS Metals Inc is hiring a Production Operator - Saws in Irwindale, CA. The role involves operating and monitoring sawing equipment, performing setups, and conducting quality inspections to ensure safe, high-quality material production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, basic blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality.
• Ability to operate forklift (certification preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor assigned equipment in compliance with SOPs and safety requirements.
• Perform basic setups, adjustments and preventive checks to maintain machine performance.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections and document results.
• Handle raw materials, WIP, and finished goods safely and efficiently.
• Record production data accurately (quantities, times, inspection results).
• Collaborate with team members, leads and supervisors to meet production targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment per 5S standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues promptly.
• Cross-train and provide support in other areas as required.
