STS Metals is seeking a Production Operator - Saws to operate sawing equipment, monitor performance, and ensure quality in a fast-paced environment in Irwindale, CA. You will read work orders, set up machines, and conduct inspections while maintaining 5S practices and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Able to read work instructions, basic blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality.
• Able to read work orders and cutting instructions, written and on computer.
• Forklift certification and safety training are required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor assigned equipment in compliance with SOPs and safety requirements.
• Perform basic setups, adjustments, and preventive checks to maintain machine performance.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections and document results.
• Record production data accurately, including quantities, times, and inspection results.
• Collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to meet production targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment; follow 5S standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues promptly.
• Cross-train and provide support in other areas as required.
• Regularly use PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes.
• Work in environments with heat, noise, dust, and chemicals as needed.

This position requires adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and production schedules. Operators may be assigned to specific equipment or processes depending on business needs. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for First Shift or 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. for Second Shift, with flexibility required for business needs. Frequent overtime may be required.
