Job summary

Christensen Arms is seeking an experienced RMA Technician/Gunsmith to diagnose, repair, test, and document firearm issues received through the RMA process. You will collaborate with Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, and Production to ensure each firearm meets high standards for quality, accuracy, and performance.

Responsibilities include operating mills and lathes, performing assembly/disassembly, testing to achieve ½ MOA, and maintaining thorough documentation in Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent vocational training in Gunsmithing, Machining, Firearms Technology, or related field.
  • Professional gunsmithing experience.
  • Strong understanding of firearm diagnostics, repair, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
  • Knowledge of Remington 700 and Remington 700-style actions, AR-15/AR-10 platforms, and 1911 pistols.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, gauges, and borescopes.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP or manufacturing software).
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair firearms returned through the RMA process.
  • Perform firearm assembly, disassembly, fitting, and functional testing.
  • Operate manual mills and lathes to manufacture or modify firearm components.
  • Test repaired firearms and demonstrate ½ MOA accuracy per testing procedures.
  • Document repairs, testing results, and corrective actions using Excel and ERP systems.
  • Communicate technical findings with Customer Service, Production, Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Analyze customer returns to identify recurring trends for product improvement.
  • Provide accurate repair data and technical reports to QA.
  • Suggest and support continuous improvement to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain firearms, tooling, and testing equipment in safe condition.
  • Follow all SOPs and safety procedures.
