Responsibilities include measuring components with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMM, inspecting both in-process and finished goods, and reviewing drawings for specifications. Strong attention to detail and precise records are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience performing precision measurements and inspecting manufactured components.
• Ability to maintain inspection records and discuss deviations with production teams.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform measurements of manufactured components to verify manufacturing specifications have been met
• Inspect machined work pieces or product at machine stations or inspection area to ensure conformance to specifications
• Measure dimensions such as angles, length, height, and distance between reference points using precision equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMM to ensure product specifications
• Approve incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor
• Receiving of material from vendor and product when returned from outside processors
• Record inspection results on appropriate forms, including discrepancy reports when needed
• Review drawing details for accurate documentation of specifications
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs
