Job summary

Bowmar LLC in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform receiving, in-process and final inspections on parts, sub-assemblies and products to verify conformance with drawings, specs and procedures. You will assist production and design engineering with quality data generation.

This role uses gauges, micrometers, calipers and comparators; you will keep accurate records, calibrate equipment, authorize routers, and help maintain tool inventory.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform all duties with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Mil Specs, standards and shop routings.
• Ability to use basic shop math.
• Ability to use, calibrate and repair inspection equipment.
• Ability to present products and data professionally to customers.
• Knowledge of electromechanical, electronics and basic electrical components.
• Knowledge of processes and equipment used in production.
• New employees must attain satisfactory proficiency in three months.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers and comparators.
• Make qualifying decisions on materials, casting and tooling using inspection data.
• Keep accurate records as required.
• Calibrate inspection equipment such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
• Authorize MRR, production routers and repair routers.
• Similar or less skilled work in classification as required.
• Set-up and maintain tool department and inventory records.
