Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Punch Press Setup/Operator for our Montpelier, IN facility. You will set up and operate the punch press, read precision gauges, and adjust tooling to ensure quality parts on a 2nd shift (2pm–10pm) with training on the 1st shift. A 5% shift differential applies to the base rate of $24.02/hour.

Responsibilities include die setup, material handling, crane and PIV operations, and maintaining safe, clean work areas. OT may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and ability.
• Ability to drive and operate forklift.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Basic mathematical understanding.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to find information and enter data.
• Analytical skills to evaluate and solve die and press problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch press.
• Read measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers and such.
• Perform adjustment and replacement to maintain a quality product.
• Complete all die set ups in press.
• Load steel; move scrap and finished parts from machinery.
• Operate PIV to deliver tubs and raw material to machinery.
• Utilize cranes to move steel throughout department.
• Operate die cart to load/unload and transport dies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
