Job summary

Aerotek in Irvine, CA is seeking a Solderer/Repair Technician to inspect, test, repair and refurbish electronics with emphasis on PCBs. You will perform precise hand soldering, interpret technical docs, and maintain repair records. Schedule is daytime with a Monday–Friday layout in a clean manufacturing setting.

Role requires extensive PCB soldering experience, IPC-A-610 familiarity and strong attention to detail. Contract-to-hire, onsite work, with comprehensive benefits once eligible.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in electronic assembly or related manufacturing.
• Proficient in hand soldering PCB through-hole and SMT.
• Experience with PCB assembly and PCBA hand soldering in production or repair.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings, schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and testing skills for electronic assemblies and PCBs.
• Competence with electronic test equipment to verify functionality.
• Understanding IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
• Strong manual dexterity for small components.
• Ability to inspect with visual magnification.
• Understanding of ESD controls and handling sensitive components.
• Experience assembling prototype, developmental, and production assemblies.
• Familiarity with SMT processes and components.

Responsibilities

• Perform precise hand soldering and assembly of PCB components.
• Assemble and modify prototype, developmental, and production electronic assemblies.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, blueprints, and process documentation to complete tasks.
• Install components using hand tools and soldering equipment.
• Inspect and test assemblies to verify functionality and quality.
• Troubleshoot and repair to component and board level.
• Ensure IPC-A-610 workmanship and quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Record RMAs accurately and promptly.
• Prepare detailed repair reports for each case.
