Job summary

Aerotek in the United States (Waukegan, IL) is hiring a Solderer Assembler for a contract-to-hire role on first shift. You will solder through-hole and SMT components onto PCBs, inspect joints, and follow detailed drawings to ensure quality.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma (IPC certification a plus), experience with SMT processes, and strong manual dexterity. Expect safety-focused work, possible overtime, and on-site work with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001 certification is a plus.
• Experience with SMT processes and equipment.
• Comfort using hand tools and wiring tools in electronics assembly.
• Ability to work overtime when required to support production demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering of components onto PCBs using through-hole and SMT per instructions and blueprints.
• Inspect solder joints and PCBs for quality and compliance with standards.
• Identify, diagnose, and fix assembly defects to ensure reliability.
• Handle components and hand tools safely, following ESD practices.
• Read schematics and work instructions to complete tasks correctly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace.
• Collaborate with team to meet production targets and drive process improvement.
• Lift and move materials up to 30 pounds as needed.
