Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT is seeking a Precision Assembly Technician to assemble and align optical profiler instruments and subassemblies. You will work on Profiler Instruments, following procedures, maintaining cleanroom standards, and collaborating with engineering on process development and quality improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on production experience, strong math skills, and the ability to read BOMs and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on production/manufacturing experience.
• Solid mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret BOM, schematics and optical layouts.
• Excellent manual dexterity for small delicate components.
• Collaborative team player with problem-solving focus.
• Able to work independently with shifting priorities.
• Capable to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and optical precision assembly, alignment, and testing of Profiler Instruments and subassemblies.
• Follow detailed manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols and contamination control during all assembly processes.
• Collaborate with engineering to support process development, validation, and continuous improvement.
• Document work with extreme attention to detail and maintain traceability.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
• Maintain required training certifications and adhere to safety and quality.
