Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT is seeking a Precision Assembly Technician for assembling and aligning optical profiler instruments and subassemblies to tight specifications. Work on Profiler Instruments within a metrology team, following procedures and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Required 3–5 years of hands-on production experience, strong manual dexterity, and ability to read BOMs and schematics. The role offers hourly pay with benefits, including retirement and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on production/manufacturing/operations experience.
• Ability to read and interpret BOMs, schematics and optical layouts.
• Excellent manual dexterity for small delicate optical components.
• Collaborative team player with problem-solving focus.
• Ability to work independently with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align Profiler Instruments and subassemblies to exacting specs.
• Follow manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
• Collaborate with engineering for process development and improvements.
• Document work with high attention to detail and traceability.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
• Maintain required training certifications and safety compliance.
