Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT is seeking an Optical Assembly Technician to join our OMAC manufacturing team. You will perform precise optomechanical and electromechanical assembly and testing of complex subassemblies, using precision tooling and microscopes to verify fit, alignment, and performance.

You will document work with meticulous detail, follow detailed procedures, and cooperate with engineering to support process development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years hands-on manufacturing/operations experience.
• Able to read BOM, schematics and drawings.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Collaborative and able to work independently.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test complex subassemblies and instruments under precise tooling and a microscope.
• Verify fit, alignment, and performance to specification.
• Document work with meticulous detail and traceability.
• Follow procedures and quality standards; support process improvement.
• Read drawings and BOMs; collaborate with engineering and peers.
