Job summary

RRD in Tennessee is seeking a skilled press operator to set up, adjust, and run single or multi-color offset presses, performing all make-ready tasks and ensuring image registration and color fidelity.

You will inspect, maintain, and lubricate equipment, perform periodic maintenance, and read job specifications to optimize setup; the role also involves mentoring new staff and adherence to safety standards at the Quail Ridge site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety.
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications for setup.
• Understanding press capabilities to optimize usage and adjustments.
• Knowledge of packing pressure for printing jobs.
• Skilled in using a micrometer to mount/align printing plates.
• Experience in routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ability to adjust feeder and feed board settings.
• Experience in training new and existing employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press
• Make-ready tasks and align plates for correct image placement
• Make color corrections and adjustments to meet quality specs
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press and replace worn parts
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer
