Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled Winder to join our team in Fort Smith, AR. You will rewind, inspect, and test various electromechanical equipment, maintain documentation of electromagnetic characteristics, and prepare parts for rewinding with attention to quality and safety.

Candidates should have 5+ years of rewinding AC/DC motors, experience with windings, and the ability to read technical instructions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in rewinding AC and DC electric motors
• Prior practice in winding fields, armatures, and synchronous rotor poles
• Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) including fractions
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple to moderately complex instructions
• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
• Ability to operate and perform VPI
• Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making within company standards
• Ability to operate machinery and hoists

Responsibilities

• Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment
• Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment, including media blasting
• Inspect equipment for winding damage and electrical malfunctions
• Document/record data specific to unit’s electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or serviceability
• Prepare reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden damage or unusual conditions
• Strip stator or apparatus without damage to core or iron
• Test rewound equipment according to standards and document results
