Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Mold Cleaning Specialist on 2nd shift to support plastic injection mold maintenance. This entry-level role offers hands-on training with experienced toolmakers in mold cleaning, assembly, and disassembly of delicate components, using cleaning agents and precision tools to keep molds in top condition.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, be comfortable reading drawings, and be able to work in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school education coursework or GED required.
CAD software: Mastercam, AutoCAD and SolidWorks familiarity.
Reading and interpreting instructions and drawings.
Math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
Willingness to attend training and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of plastic injection molds to ensure optimal production quality.
Inspect mold surfaces for damage, residue, or contamination and apply cleaning methods.
Collaborate with production teams to schedule cleaning without disrupting timelines.
Document cleaning procedures and maintain records of maintenance activities.
Identify mold defects or wear that could affect quality.
Ensure safety regulations and company policies during cleaning.
Other duties as required.
