Job summary

The Whirlpool Corporation seeks a Metrology Technician to develop, evaluate, and maintain calibration systems for length, mass, time, temperature and current, ensuring instrument accuracy. This role blends physics, math and engineering to minimize measurement uncertainty.

You will govern measurement systems, lead GD&T and CMM programming, perform error analysis, conduct analytical tests, and guide teams on selecting approved standards while supporting ongoing quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in technical or engineering preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in Metrology, CMM Programming or Industrial Maintenance in manufacturing.
• Technical Knowledge: GD&T, blueprints, PC-DMIS, CMMs; PLCs and 480V systems.

Responsibilities

• Measurement System Governance: Develop and maintain calibration systems; define base units.
• Precision Metrology & Inspection: Lead GD&T, program and operate CMMs and precision tools.
• Error Analysis & Quality Improvement: Identify sources of error; perform LPAs and root cause analysis.
• Analytical Testing & Claims Resolution: Test raw materials and finished products; substantiate claims.
• Technical Leadership & Advocacy: Lead teams and represent SME in standard committees (NIST/ISO).
• Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Maintain and repair production and facility equipment including CNC/PLC.
