PrecisionX Group is seeking a skilled Setup Technician for its Piscataway, NJ facility: to prepare, install, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate stamping presses and tooling for close-tolerance metal components.

The role requires experience with progressive, compound, and secondary-operation dies, coil-fed press systems, and dimensional inspections, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely changeovers.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, setup sheets, and inspection plans.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and measurement techniques.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and accurate production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate progressive, compound, and secondary-operation dies in stamping presses.
• Install, align, and adjust tooling and die systems per work instructions and drawings.
• Verify tooling identification and revision levels against orders and documentation.
• Adjust press parameters (shut height, stroke, speed, feed length) to meet specs.
• Load coil stock, thread material through feeders, and ensure proper material alignment.
• Produce first-piece samples with minimal adjustments and maintain production rates.
• Document production and quality records accurately and communicate concerns promptly.
