Reliance, Inc. is seeking an experienced machinist to supervise and perform metals processing and distribution tasks.

The role includes operating and setting up a variety of machines, interpreting blueprints, selecting materials, and ensuring conformance to specifications. Responsibilities also cover maintaining safety standards, quality inspections, and completing paperwork while coordinating material handling and repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years warehousing, material handling, and machining experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and basic math computations.
• Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience and judgment.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers.

Responsabilités

• Perform advanced production activities on machines to produce precision parts.
• Review blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other specifications to understand machining characteristics.
• Choose correct material for the job according to work order.
• Determine processing specifications and tolerances for materials.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Select and monitor speeds, feeds and operation sequences.
• Operate machines and modify parts per specifications using lathes, milling machines, etc.
• Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments.
• Measure pieces with precision instruments to ensure specifications.
• Perform quality control inspections on finished products and document results.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness procedures.
