Qualifications

• 5–10 years warehousing, material handling, and machining experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and basic math computations.
• Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience and judgment.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced production activities on machines to produce precision parts.
• Review blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other specifications to understand machining characteristics.
• Choose correct material for the job according to work order.
• Determine processing specifications and tolerances for materials.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Select and monitor speeds, feeds and operation sequences.
• Operate machines and modify parts per specifications using lathes, milling machines, etc.
• Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments.
• Measure pieces with precision instruments to ensure specifications.
• Perform quality control inspections on finished products and document results.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness procedures.
