Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions LLC in Oregon City seeks an Operations Technician, Metal Finisher, Polishing I to perform finishing operations using conventional polishing and belting equipment in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.

The role requires maintaining a clean, safe work environment, inspecting finished parts with calipers and gauges, and supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and QMS procedures. High school diploma preferred; no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Problem solving and quality inspection experience in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in finishing operations.

Responsibilities

• Use automated finishing equipment per engineering drawings and customer specs.
• Protect parts during processing with masking and appropriate handling.
• Buff/polish using wheels, compounds, and speeds to achieve required finishes.
• Inspect parts with calipers, gauges, and fixtures to ensure conformity.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and safe handling practices.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing and QMS procedures and report issues.
• Complete required training and support ongoing improvements.
