Job summary

Orchid MPS Holdings, LLC is seeking an Operations Technician I to support production of parts. You will perform belting and polishing, buffing, die grinding, blasting, and tumbling, following engineering drawings and quality standards.

You will fill out paperwork, maintain a clean workspace, and report issues to supervision while following Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives, safety rules, and 5S practices. This role requires hands-on dexterity and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Belting/Polishing – uses conventional polishing and belting lathes for the specific belting and/or polishing operations based on the information on engineering drawings.
• Buffing – uses conventional buffing/polishing lathes along with appropriate buffing materials to acquire specified finishes called-out on engineering drawings.
• Die grinding – uses air and/or electric hand held tools for specific grinding or detailing tasks.
• Blasting – selects proper media and machine settings per drawings/instructions.
• Tumbling – uses centrifugal and vibratory equipment with appropriate media and water flow to achieve required finishes.
• Complete paperwork and labor reporting transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and leave it clean for others.
• Detect and report faulty equipment or defective material to supervisor.
• Safely transport product using hand truck or pallet jack.
• Dimensionally inspect work using calipers, gauges, and surface plates.
